Huang Fam's Little Summer Trip (Forest Park)

Craving for mother nature, Joe and I decided to take a short trip to a mountain in Hsinchu. After an hour of easy breezy freeway drive and another hour of confusing yet soothing mountain roads with spectacular views, we finally arrived at our destination, Forest Park.
Road trip always begins with snacking on the car...this time, Mos Burger...Noah slept through most of the way.

However, drop drop drop....Rain?! It started to rain the moment we parked our car. Joe grabbed the bags, I grabbed Noah, we quickly dashed into the B&B. The manager, probably saw our disappointed looks, told us not to worry, that this was only a quick shower and would clear up in 30 minutes. (But the lightening and thunder we experienced this high up in the altitude were pretty scary....so loud, so clear, so close to us)

Having some tea and waffle as we waited for the rain to stop...

In perfect timing, as we finished our tea and the last bite of waffle, the sky clearned up. The moment the rain stopped, all three of us were outside ready to explore the mountain and the woods. The view was amazing. I don't know how high up we were, but the clouds were below us.

Rainbow after the rain.

Butterflies...

and bunnies.

Our dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed our meals as we were hungry after the hikes. The B&B we stayed at: http://www.forest-park.biz/. Very simple, friendly, and clean...I recommend it!

Day 2 - Sunny Day!

Watch me get down the stairs....

In the woods. This was our favorite part of the park and we spent most of the morning just hanging out here...

While the trip was short, all three of us felt much rested and refreshed. The manager told us in the fall, we would be able to pick fruits, and in winter, play with snow so Joe and I both agreed that we'd come back again. But most importantly, we were happy and excited to find another beautiful landscape of Taiwan.
